- These courses are generally a mix of locals and travelers, so you will have an opportunity to interface and learn from each other.

- There are options to turn your course into a longer adventure in Costa Rica in partnership with the wonderful folks at Chilamate. Choose from everything from surfing and whitewater, to educational rainforest walks and more.

Who is this for?
We believe that wilderness medicine is for EVERYONE!
This is life-saving training with practical skills that can be implemented in any emergency situation - whether it is in the backcountry or not. The more people get this training, the more victims of tragedies will be administered proper first-line care.
One of the missions of Foxfire Wilderness is to increase access to wilderness medical training. Our Costa Rica programs are part of our strategy to address this mission. We want to create spaces that break down some of the potential barriers to diving into this training.
Offering Spanish-language options, and courses that require learners to navigate cultural and language differences help train our learners to be the best possible aid to as many people as possible. They also serve to increase access to wilderness medical training and open pathways for more of our latine community to enter the outdoor industry.
