Affinity Programing
We are currently offering courses specifically for women and AFAB folks. In the future we are building options for the LGBTQ+ community as well.
Who is this for?
We believe that wilderness medicine is for EVERYONE!

This is life-saving training with practical skills that can be implemented in any emergency situation - whether it is in the backcountry or not. The more people get this training, the more victims of tragedies will be administered proper first-line care.
One of the missions of Foxfire Wilderness is to increase access to wilderness medical training. Affinity programs are part of our strategy to address this mission. We want to create spaces that break down some of the potential barriers to diving into this training.
Newcomers who feel disenfranchised by the strikingly homogenous wilderness medicine industry and seasoned industry pros who are ready for the different vibe on a course will feel supported by our affinity programs.
At the moment we are focused on providing courses specifically for women and folks assigned-female-at-birth, but we are an unapologetically queer friendly institution and we are working towards providing LGBTQ+ specific courses as well.
